Consultations

All new patients are required to have a consultation before any treatment. During your initial consultation I listen to understand your unique needs, which allows me to provide personalised treatments and professional guidance tailored to your individual goals

Skin Consultations with Skin Scanner

A professional skin consultation is the first step toward achieving healthy, radiant skin. Using an advanced skin analyser, I can look beneath the surface to assess issues such as sun damage, dehydration, oil levels, and congestion, things that aren’t always visible to the eye. This in-depth analysis helps create a personalised skincare and treatment plan tailored to your unique skin needs. Whether you’re starting your skin journey or looking to get more from your current routine, a consultation ensures you begin with the right knowledge and a clear plan for real, lasting results.

Anti-wrinkle Treatments

Anti-wrinkle injections are a type of botulinum toxin type A, also known widely as Botox. It is a prescription only drug that should only be administered following a face-to-face consultation with a registered prescriber.

  • When injected into the muscle, anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve signals. This prevents the muscle from contracting, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

  • Cosmetically, it is used to treat facial wrinkles, such as crows’ feet, horizontal forehead lines, frown lines, and many more. It can also be used to prevent excessive underarm sweating; help target jowls and slim the face.

  • Yes, anti-wrinkle injection treatments are generally considered safe, however it can have side effects which will be discussed during your consultation.

  • The effects of your anti-wrinkle treatment typically last up to 3 months. After 6-8 weeks muscle action and movement gradually start to return, by 3 months wrinkles may start to reappear.

  • Results are seen from 4-14 days, with full effects seen at 14 days. You will have a review appointment scheduled at 14 days to check your results.

  • Not usually, the procedure itself is quick and pain is minimal

  • Common side effects are bruising, tenderness, swelling and redness at the injection site. More rare side effects are headaches or flu-like symptoms, droopy eyelids, visual disturbances, a heavy feeling around the eyebrows, uneven smile. Side effects and complications will be discussed during your consultation.

  • Before your treatment, you should avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications for 24 hours, this is to reduce the risk of bruising. It is helpful, but not necessary, if you come to your appointment make-up free.

Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to smooth out wrinkles, add volume to your face, and enhance your natural features. Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which is a safe and natural component found in your skin.

  • Common areas are cheeks, lips, nasolabial lines, marionettes, jawline, chin and under eye hollows.

  • The length of duration depends on the type of filler used and the area treated. Typically, dermal fillers last from 6 months to 2 years.

  • Dermal fillers have only been around for about 30 years, so there are not yet any long-term studies on their safety. However, data available so far suggests they show no long-term health implications.

As with any medical procedure there are side effects and complications to be aware of.

  • Common side effects are bruising, tenderness, swelling and redness at the injection site. Rare but serious side effects are infection, allergic reactions, and in very rare cases vascular occlusion and delayed onset nodules. All complications and side effects will be discussed fully during your consultation.

  • The procedure usually takes from 20-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. It is relatively pain free, and a topical numbing cream can be applied to help minimise any discomfort. The area will be cleansed thoroughly with a skin preparation solution to help minimise the risk of infection and a sterile field will be used.

  • There is usually a bit of downtime, with some patients experiencing swelling and bruising. This can last a few days. Most people can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. Pain killers are not usually needed following treatment, but paracetamol can be taken if pain relief is needed.

Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are injectable treatments, designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity and overall appearance by delivering hyaluronic acid and other beneficial substances directly into the skin.

  • Skin boosters work by injecting small amounts of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance, into the skin, which attracts and retains moisture, resulting in improved skin texture, hydration, elasticity and an overall more radiant complexion

  • Skin boosters are suitable for people of all ages and skin types looking to improve skin hydration, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, enhance skin texture, and achieve a healthy glow. Skin boosters are recommended for people with dry, rough, or tired looking skin.

  • The results of skin boosters can last between 6:00 to 12:00 months, depending on factors such as the product used, your skin type, and your lifestyle. Regular maintenance treatments are recommended to prolong the effects.

  • Common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness at the injection sites. These are usually resolved within a few days; there is typically minimal downtime, and you can return to your normal daily activities straight after the procedure.

  • The procedure involves a series of injections into the dermis using fine needles. It can sting, so a topical numbing cream can be applied if needed to minimise discomfort. Typically, treatment time takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Results may be noticeable a week to 10 days after the first treatment.  Usually, a course of treatments is recommended for best results and results will continue to improve after each treatment.

  • A course of treatments is usually recommended for best results depending on your skin type and needs. An initial course of two to three sessions spaced 2 to four weeks apart followed by maintenance treatments every six to 12 months is the most common course of treatment.

  • Skin boosters are considered safe, hyaluronic acid is a bio compatible substance which minimises the risk of allergic reactions. Any medical concerns or allergies will be discussed during your consultation

  • Yes, they are. While both skin boosters and dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, they are used for different reasons. Dermal fillers are used to add volume and to contour different areas of the face, and skin boosters are designed to improve overall skin quality and hydration, they are injected much more superficially.

  • Yes, skin boosters can be combined with other aesthetic treatments such as Botox and chemical peels for enhanced results. A treatment plan will be discussed and configured during your consultation.

  • Before the treatment avoid blood thinning medications and supplements, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure. After the treatment, avoid intense physical activities, sun exposure and certain skin care products for a short time. Full aftercare advice will be discussed during your consultation.

Polynucleotides

Poly nucleotides are naturally occurring molecules made-up of nucleotide chains, (poly= many) which are the building blocks of DNA and RNA. In skin care they are used to promote skin regeneration, hydration and overall rejuvenation, helping to improve skin texture and reduce signs of ageing.

  • Polynucleotide treatments work by injecting these molecules into the skin where they stimulate cellular repair and regeneration, improve micro-circulation and boost collagen production. This results in improved skin quality and appearance, enhances skin hydration and promotes a more youthful radiant complexion. They also aid in tissue repair and regeneration.

  • Polynucleotides are often derived from salmon or trout sperm DNA.  This is because the DNA found in salmon and trout sperm is bio-compatible with human skin, meaning it can effectively promote skin regeneration and support tissue repair without causing adverse reactions.

  • Polynucleotide treatments are considered safe, they use naturally occurring substances that are bio compatible minimising the risk of allergic reactions or adverse effects.  Side effects of bruising tenderness and swelling at the injection site will usually settle within a week or two.

  • The duration of results can vary based on your individual factors, the specific product used, and the treatment regimen. Generally, results can last for several months up to a year, with maintenance sessions recommended to prolong effects

  • The procedure involves injecting polynucleotides into the skin using a fine needle, which can sting which is why topical numbing cream will be applied for 20 minutes before the procedure takes place. Procedure time, including time for your skin to numb, is around 40 minutes.  Recommended treatments are usually 3, spaced 1 week to 4 weeks apart, however you may need up to six treatments depending on your skin quality and results you are looking for. This will be discussed during your consultation.

Microneedling Using SkinPen

Microneedling is also called collagen induction therapy, it is a procedure that involves using tiny needles to create micro injuries in your skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which improves skin tone, texture and overall appearance.

At Kelly Peel Aesthetics I choose to use SkinPen, the world’s leading, medical-grade microneedling device to deliver safe, precise, and consistent results every time.

    • The first FDA-cleared microneedling device, clinically proven for safety and effectiveness

    • Uses single-use sterile cartridges for maximum hygiene

    • Minimal downtime with long-lasting, natural results

    • Suitable for most skin types and areas of concern

  • Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation (age spots, brown spots, melasma) and it can improve overall skin tone and texture.

  • Yes, microneedling is considered safe. There is a risk of infection, scarring and skin irritation if not performed in a clinically clean environment so it is always advisable to see a professional for microneedling.

  • Not usually, topical numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort.

  • Usually, the recovery time is limited to 1 or 2 days of redness and tight feeling skin, it is a similar experience to feeling sunburned. Full recovery takes around a week and make-up can be worn 24 hours after the procedure.

  • For best results 3-6 are recommended spaced 1 month      apart.

  • Yes, microneedling can be combined with other treatments such as chemical peels, serums, exosomes, and skincare to give optimal results. This will all be discussed during your consultation.

  • Microneedling is suitable for most skin types, however people with severe active acne, broken skin, facial infections and some skin conditions are not suitable.

  • You may see results in as little as a week, however collagen production takes time, with optimal results being around 3 months after your first treatment. Results continue to improve over several months with maintenance treatments.

  • At home microneedling devices are usually not single use, so the risk of infection and complications are higher. The needles used in clinic are sterile, single use and are sharper as a result.

Biostimulators

Biostimulators are injectable treatments that work by stimulating your skin’s natural collagen production to restore volume, firmness, and elasticity over time. Unlike traditional fillers that add instant volume, biostimulators gradually improve the structure and quality of your skin from within, giving long-lasting, natural-looking results. They’re ideal for anyone noticing skin laxity, hollow areas, or loss of firmness, and who wants subtle, progressive rejuvenation.

  • Biostimulators are injectable treatments that encourage your skin to produce more collagen — the protein that keeps skin firm, smooth, and elastic. Over time, this natural collagen renewal helps to lift, tighten, and improve skin quality, giving long-lasting and subtle rejuvenation.

  • The main difference lies in how they work and the results you’ll see:

    • HarmonyCa gives both instant lift and long-term collagen stimulation. It contains hyaluronic acid for immediate volume and calcium hydroxyapatite to boost collagen over time.

    • Sculptra, on the other hand, doesn’t add instant volume — it gradually rebuilds lost collagen beneath the skin’s surface using poly-L-lactic acid, with results that develop over several months.

In short, HarmonyCa offers an immediate and ongoing effect, while Sculptra provides a more gradual, collagen-focused rejuvenation.

  • Both treatments offer long-lasting results compared to traditional fillers.

    • HarmonyCa: Typically lasts around 12–18 months.

    • Sculptra: Can last up to two years or more, depending on individual response and the number of sessions.

  • HarmonyCa usually gives great results after a single treatment, though some clients may choose a second session for enhanced results.

Sculptra is typically performed as a course of 2–3 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, to build collagen gradually for a natural, lifted appearance.

  • Downtime is minimal with both treatments. You may notice some redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites, which usually settles within a few days. You can return to normal activities soon after treatment.

  • With HarmonyCa, you’ll notice some immediate lifting and smoothing, with further improvement as collagen develops in the following months.

With Sculptra, results appear more gradually, you’ll begin to see firmer, fuller skin within a few weeks, continuing to improve over several months.

  • Biostimulators are ideal for men and women looking for natural, subtle rejuvenation rather than an instant “filled” look. They are especially effective for those noticing:

    • Early to moderate volume loss

    • Skin laxity or sagging

    • Hollow cheeks, temples, or jawline definition loss

    • Fine lines and dull or thinning skin
